United States Notary Association (USNA) is a direct result of the success of the Pennsylvania Association of Notaries (PAN).
In the tradition of service, PAN President Marc L. Aronson began Commonwealth Notary Supplies on Feb. 17, 1987, offering notary supplies at discounted prices. During the 1990s, a name change was in order to reflect the growth of the business. Commonwealth Notary Supplies began doing business as North American Notary Services, providing products to notaries in several states, including Pennsylvania.
Aronson realized that just like Pennsylvania notaries, individuals working as notaries in other states wanted more than just supplies. They wanted opportunities for notary education, their questions answered and a national organization that would serve as an advocate for them.
In September 2002, USNA was launched to provide service and support, training and notarial supplies to notaries throughout the United States.
"We are constantly researching and developing new products and services to better serve our members," said Aronson. "And we're active in helping to draft legislation, commenting on proposed changes in the law and reporting on new laws that have been passed."
Headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, USNA is a membership-based association that offers its members a monthly electronic newsletter and discounted prices on a full line of notary equipment and accessories, including home study courses tailored to meet individual states' requirements. Notary questions can be answered during regular business hours via telephone, fax or online.
USNA was the first national association to offer Signing Agent Errors and Omissions Insurance for notaries who work in the mortgage industry.
Membership in USNA is $36 for one year, $66 for two years, $90 for three years, $108 for four years and $120 for five years.
